If the whole population had to vote, they will want to make the most out of their vote. with that, the people would learn more about the candidates to make sure they are choosing the right person. Therefore, better-educated voters will be able to see unrealistic plans, ensuring better decisions in the future.

What you are claiming does make sense but, A democratic government means that it respects basic human freedoms and rights. By having voting a responsibility it would make people and Candidates take elections more seriously. It is important that everybody votes so that the people would all have a part in the future president.

I see what you're stating, but even though there are many citizens it is important that everyone has their voice heard. It would be unlawful to punish those who would choose not to vote, no matter what.

Where there is a division, there is instability. When the country has a low voter turnout, it could increase the risk of political instability brought about by crises or leaders.

If there is only 1/3 of people voting then why even vote. It is important that everyone votes because then the people would all have the voice to pick who should govern the country. Everyones voices count.

It is not a democracy if there is only half of the population voting. More votes could mean more innovation.
